Where to go and what to do on NYE 05

What are you doing on New Year's Eve? It's just one day away. If I didn't rememeber wrongly, I was down with a horrible flu on 31st Dec 2004. Wanted to catch the fireworks at Esplanade but was too sick to be out in the crowd. Nevertheless, I caught it right outside my flat.
Just wondering what would I be doing this new yr's eve. I sure hope I am not stuck at home . Everywhere's gonna be crowded. Someone better ask me out :P

GoodBye 2005

The time has come to say goodbye to 2005. There are only 4 days left to this amazing crazy , heartbreaking and self discovery year. I wouldn't say that there were alot of breakthroughs , but I have made some 'wonderful' discoveries about my innerself. This is acheived thanks to a few people who has left footprints in my life this year. Some of them have been staying with me on this journey for awhile, some came and has already left. If given another chance to relive 2005, I wouldn't want to change a thing about it. It has taught me many valuable lessons.I would like to thank some wonderful people-- wabbit, thanks for the love you have given me and you will always have a speical place in my heart. Thanks for all the encouragment.
To my family, thanks for being there consistanly for me,for accepting me with all my flaws. Phoneix, thanks for being a friend, you were there when I was at my worst this year. Thanks for being there and all the endless ranting we shared. Peppergirl,thanks for believing in me and not giving up on our friendship.I know i haven't been all truthful with you this year. But nevertheless, you were there.Not to mention cute'lil Nicky. To all my friends, you have been great, being able to withstand my inconsistancy, my silliness, my craps,my moods, my cuteness (kidding),my constant craving for chocolates. polo, thanks for being you. Just by that you added a dash of spice to the last few moments of 2005.Let's see where will this journery bring us to. Despite what I have gone through for the year, I am nevertheless blessed with good friends and still have a home to come back to at the end of the day. ----------------------------------------------- Wondering what have I done over the Christmas weekend? Well, on Christmas Eve itself, I attended church service *city harvest* hmm, i used to attend it for nearly a yr.This is the first time attending since the last 9 mths back. Met up my jie meis on Christmas for lunch at Sakura Toa Payoh and followed by singing session at KBOX. What can I say, we were clueless what to do after lunch.

Continuation of previous post. We took some photos outside Raffles City after dinner that night. Ellouise had to leave for her movie date..so the 3 of us went for a Kbox session!! *Early Xmas Dinner with the ladies**

Met the girls on Monday nite for early Xmas dinner and gift exchange. We had dinner at Menotti@Raffles City. I have to say...the desserts are really yummylicious!! Even though we were quite full after our pasta, we could still make space for the mouth drooling cakes and icecream!! I don't need a photo frame this Xmas

It's the time of the year for christmas gift exchange!! I have came up top 4 items I DO NOT WISH to receive 1--PHOTO FRAME 2--BODY SHOP ITEMS 3--MOBILE PHONE HOLDER (I got 2 of these last yr, usually in shape of animals or cubes) 4--COFFEE MUG(2 new ones yet to be used) They are in order of merit. To receive a photo frame for just goes to show how much 'time' the person actually puts into searching for a suitable gift. I have nothing to say if the photo frame is super special, is branded(Tiffany?? haha) , is made of expensive china, or something in that line. But if its just a normal rectangular frame.. *thumbs down to you buddy* Not gonna go into the other items on the list. Bodyshop gift sets are bought perhaps out of convenience or it was a last minute decision . I think they are over rated as presents. Yeah. I know it's the thought that counts..just that sometimes, the giver has to really give it a though as to what is suitable for the receiver! haha..

Toilet encounter

Overheard in the ladies restroom (while I was doing my small business) little girl @about pri.1@: "Auntie Catherine~~~~~~!!!! Are you still outside? " Auntie Catherine: " Yes girl..are you done??" "NO~~~!! I want to pass motion~~!! You stand outside wait for me oky?? You come in and clean for me later!!" "Ok, i am outside here" I am quite amazed!! By the way..Aunt Catherine is the little girl's domestic helper. So now our country's children need help in cleaning of bottoms? I saw this girl before she entered the cubicle , quite obvious she is old enough to be wiping her own ass after she shit. Pardon my language. What happens when she needs to pass motion in school? Does she summons her teacher the same way she summons the domestic help? Who cleans her ass in school? I wonder can she eat by herself or is she spoon fed? Where is the girl's mum anyway? Busy shopping instead of tending to her own daughter's welfare I presume. Enough said.

I am hooked on Sponge Bob!!

There is nothing much to do when I am over at Tan Tock Seng keeping my grandma company. Sometimes I would talk to her, feed her some water..stare at the ceiling.. okay..kidding. Read the papers, look suspiciously at other patients in the ward hahaha. Other then those stuff, I have been watching Sponge Bob at 6pm on kids central~!! I must say it's quite an entertaining cartoon! I wonder do kids really understand some of the jokes in the cartoon. Never expected a sponge to be living underwater..and has a starfish as a best friend.

Damn it.. Do I look like a loan shark? Or a very generous rich person? A person from the past , ie an ex bf from 4 years ago tried to borrow $500 from me last night. Well, I kept him on my msn list as I still considered him a friend. We hardly chat except for the occasion Hi how are you kinda conversation. Really puzzles me what makes him think it's okay for him to be borrowing money from me. Argh. Seriously, I will not lend anyone..least to say him 500 bucks. I will lend only when it's a matter of life and death :P and that is quite subjective.

Slack.. No mood to write Grandma is still in the hospital I know how it feels to be stuck in bed all day long Been hosptialized twice myself. Once for dengue fever (1998 in the old TTSH) and the 2nd time for wisdom teeth op (2002 NUH). Just hope that my grandma recovers soon. She is considered strong for someone her age.

Haven't been blogging much. Just a quick update. Went in JB during the weekend. Geez..the jam at both causeways were terrible. Took me and my friend nearly an hour just to cross the causeway. We took the Tuas route.
Was down at Tan tock seng earlier about 9+pm. My grandma fell again and was warded for observation. She looked so bony.. Kinda worried about her. Getting on in her years. This is the 2nd time this yr she got warded. Will be at ttsh in the morning. @Yawn@

Hot pipping sandwiches -Vending machine style

It's 1 am on a Friday morning, was with a good friend (down with an virual infection) at Thomson Medical Center. Was feeling hungry ..and the only thing at the recept area was a sandwish vending machine. We decided to give the sandwich a try. There were two kinds of sandwiches -Hot dog melt (the one we ate) and tuna. Had to wait 1 min or so (mircowave ). I kinda had my doubts about vending machine food, but suprisingly, the hotdog melt was quite tasty. Two pieces of bread filled with hotdog slices and melted cheese. Makes a good snack at that hour. Plus being stuck with a friend who just received a jab for his infection :P

Need for New Hobby

I should be able to put some of my photoshop skills to use. Gonna try my hands on digital scrapbooking :P Why the sudden thought? hmm..a scrapbooking community added me to in Friendster. Have always wanted to try paper scrap booking, but seems like an expensive hobby. Materials for both paper and digital scrap booking doesn't come cheap. Maybe I might just go back to my earring making -_-"" Pss..I need more money to upkeep my hobbies and shopping hahaha.. any donors? I have to work harder =(^x^)=

What did i watch last night

Caught a late nite movie at Orchard Cineplex. Futuristic /action pack flick-Aeon Flux . I like the main actress, Charlize Theron. I remembered her in The Devil's Advocate, where she acted with Keanu Reeves. Great body hehe. I enjoyed the movie, and I hope the person next to me yesterday feels the same way too. Would wanna catch Pride and Prejudice soon. Read the book years ago.. May have to watch it alone *its not such a bad idea after all*
I can be fully immerse in the film. Not many guys would wanna sit through films like such. Plus, not many guys are Jane Austen fans. Did u just say I can watch with girlfrens? Sure..but sadly, most of them would rather watch with their significant other.

Introducing Nicole Lim

Hello..I am Nicole Lim, Eileen Lim's god daughter :) I am playing with my new toys *mummy and godma bought them for me* :) Godma spend the afternoon with mummy and daddy and me. Actually I have no idea how to play with them. I think they must be quite tasty.. did i tell you I have two front teeth already ?

Yummy.. Its time for milk!! Mummy's feedling me.. Let's put my feet up the stroller.. hehehe

Christmas music in the church

I was mesmerised by the voices of the choir and the music earlier this evening . Was at a concert -"Christmas Music from Germany & France" at Kampong Kapor Methodist Church. It was organised by my friend Dr Thomas Manhart who is the director of Artyfakt. The concert evoked certain memories of my choir days back in sec. school. Those days were fun...practising for SYF and performing during school festivities. There were a couple of public performances too. Hmm..I wonder how many of you are shocked to know that I sing..hahah.. not only that.. I play the piano (lousy) too. Not trying to be a 'show off' , just that music has always been a part of my life..though (sadly) I am not very consumed by music itself. I can name the composers of certain world renowed famous pieces and thats about it. Totally clueless about anything else more indepth. Perhaps I just lack the passion for it. Passion is the key word here. I would have been a music teacher if I really had the passion and love for music as much as some of my good friends. *shrugs* How did I even pass all the ABRSM exams?? *very puzzled* heheheeh

Met my gal friends for dinner Secret Garden. It's a cozy place at Middle Road. Kinda tired to write...so here are the photos :) I had the lamb kebab. It was nothing to shout about :P oh some of my friends had a good laugh at my kitty top.. hahaah.. yeah..the eyes were 'strategically' located at that area.

How do u cope with changes? Do you take it calmly? Or do u make a big fuss out of it ? I admit I am someone who rather stay in my comfort zone. But that's not very good for my personal growth as i see it. Things are evolving everyday. Feelings, humans, objects are metormorphising as time goes by. People don't stay the way they are , feelings fade away. We have to protect ourselves from the pain (if there is) that comes from such changes. I am crapping. Auf Wiedersehen

Yes~Finally got myself a LCD monitor :D Bought it at the IT fair. The CRT monitor was near its end.. serving me for more than 6yrs. Was packing some old notes and found this relic! Okay okay,not relic but pretty ancient lah. My first phone-Nokia 5110. It's really heavy for a mobile phone. Technology back then wasn't as advance of coz. This model was quite popular if I am not wrong. Can't imagine how I used to lug this out.

Of Toadstools and Beans

Its time for another edition of 'what did Eileen eat for supper' Venue-Mr Beans Time-11.10pm Christine and I went for our usual Wednesday gamelan practise. I told her about Wine network at Demsey Road. Hahha..we kinda explored that area. Pretty creepy I must say. I mean the area's quite dark, hardly any street lamp. After driving around, we decided not to eat at Wine network. Anyway, we ended up at Mr Beans. The spicy seafood soup was delicious (quite filling) and the brownie wasn't all too bad :) Okay..regarding the toadstools mentioned..we saw 4 of them sprouting nicely at an open field. Must be due to the rain these days. They looked kinda cute haha. How about going on a field trip and do some mushroom picking? Oops. They cannot be eaten. Okay..I am gonna take a bath. Time to stop this lame entry haha. Hey.. Happy Thanks Giving. Finish the turkey.

What have I eaten today

Shucks~I think I am turning my blog into more like a update of what I have eaten for the day :P Haha. Anyway..here's what i have eaten. The end result of polishing off 4 plates of $1.90 sushi and a bowl of cozy warm yummy salmon head miso soup :) I was famished upon reaching Fiesta at Toa Payoh, hence didn't snap any of the food hehe. Well..I know the end results doesn't look very appetizing . I must say the food at Fiesta may not be authentic Japanese food (improvised to suit local taste bud), yet it is very tasty. I have been eathing Jap food at least once a week for the past 3 weeks. Am currently on a Jap food binge. There goes my diet plans. (-_-'') (._. )( ._.) --------------------------------------------- It's yet another sun less day. Time to show off your thick jackets and coats! Despite the coldness..I couldn't resist not eating this chocolate chip ice cream :P

G r e e d y --on a sun-less day

I knew I had to pay for my gluttony :P There is this thing about me regarding coconut. I can't take too much of it . That means anything that is cooked with coconut has to be consumed with moderation. Food such as curry..laska..coconut desserts.. yeah..I pretty much get the runs (8 out of 10 times >_<) Greedy me had a bowl of pipping hot yummy laska for lunch and true enough.. I had to pay for it. The pain was rated 7.5 on the 'oh my gosh its painful' scale. ------------------------------------- It has been a cool sun-less day.

I am tired. Applied two different kinds of masks earlier. Realised that my complexion is getting bad. Oh something crossed my mind... Wondering do those who blog ever thought about this. How much of myself should I be revealing in my blog? There are friends reading this and perhaps just that handful of strangers who may actually find my blog interesting :) No, I didn't plan for the blog to be a platform where I kiss and tell..yet it's also an arena where I can express my ideology and opinions (without infringing any laws nor purposely trying to create chaos haha ). Actually , its nothing much..I just wonder where do I draw the line.

Cheap buys!

Kinda rotting in my room tonight, hence decided to post some of the stuff I aquired today. Was out shopping (^_^) in the afternoon. Oh I have to mention about this green printed skirt which I bought in one of those 'auntie' shops located near bugis village. It only cost me less than $10..ok..$9.90 to be exact. I still get 10cents change back hahaha. Guess what!! I saw the exact same skirt, same print at Suntec Iora!! And it's tagged at $43!!! wahahaa.. I am a happy woman. Here are the rest of my shopping loot :P What else can I show you ...hmm.. some books that I am currently reading. You're allowed to borrow up to 8 items from the library till Jan 06 .

Rainy evening

Took a cab from Clementi to NUS for gamelan practise this evening. Thank goodness I wasn't caught in the heavy evening downpour. Practise was okay, learnt 3 new pieces. Was kinda lazy earlier, wanted to skip practise coz I am still down with the flu >_<
Ok enough of this. Time for some photos. It was my cousin-Weijie's 17th birthday on Nov 14. Had dinner with family and cousins on Monday. We were at Seah Street Deli. I only realised that there were some cute guys seated behind our table hahaha when I saw this photo :P It has been awhile since I last ate at Seah Street. Well.. we have to agree with the choice as its the boy's fav. restuarant. Here are some of the food we ate.

Dirty Bowls

I dislike going to public toilets. I am sure lots of ladies share my sentiments. Guys may be wondering why their galfriends, wives, mothers..etc take such a long time visiting the toilets...here's why. There are some important steps taken before we actually start to pee or poo :P
Here's a senario
Entered a cubicle, first thing that greets you is how pundgent the aroma is. Your eyes immidently focus on the seat, which is somewhat dirty(could be dotted with spots of pee or unidentifiable fluid). Your hands darted towards the toilet paper and you yakked it from the dispenser with great force. You begin to wipe the seat (notice that this action is done even on a clean toilet seat). After you are satisfied with the wiping, you proceed to dispense more toilet paper. With paper in hand, you carefully place it either around the seat or line it across the seat. The paper has to cover the front portion of the seat(actually, this depends on how much your butt touches the seat ie how big or small your butt is :P) Now when this is all done, you are ready to sit down and proceed with the business. You may ask why go through all these just to pee. Ah, do you know how much viruses are ladden on the seat? And not to mention that we have to wipe away the left over pee from the last user!!?Or the footprints of some country bumkin when she climbed on top of the seat to pee?? (that required some kind of training..so pls do not attempt to do the act unless you are trained)
Of course I would chosen a different cubicle to use, but in times when there is a long que, one doesn't really have much of a choice. Sometimes I do opt for the squatting loo if its vacant.
Guys , so now you know what actually takes place in the ladies toilet. Next time don't pull a long face when u think we girls take too long -_-" . Did u say what if there is no toilet paper and the seat is dirty? Good question. Here's where the strenght of your legs come into use. Put all your weight on your legs, lift up your butt so that its hovering around the bowl, but make sure your butt does not touch any where near the filty bowl. I guess i have revealed quite a bit today.
